The honest answers are a named relief pool or scheduled cover through dispatch. The answer to worry about is silence, or a promise that it never happens. It happens to everyone; the difference is whether there is a system for it.

“Are you licensed as an agency, and are all guards individually licensed?”
Both are required under Ontario’s Private Security and Investigative Services Act, and both are verifiable. Ask for the agency licence number. Any legitimate provider hands it over without hesitating.

“What exactly will I receive in writing, and how quickly?”
Shift reports, patrol records and incident reports should have a defined format and a delivery schedule agreed before you start. “You can call us” is not a reporting process, and it is worth nothing if you ever have to substantiate a claim.
